Prostate enlargement

Urological changes caused by prostatic hyperplasia can lead to obstruction of the bladder outlet, resulting in impaired bladder function and even impaired kidney function.

Symptoms

  • Frequent urination, urgency to urinate

  • Delayed urination

  • Incomplete emptying of the bladder

  • Pain when urinating

The principle of treatment for prostatic hyperplasia is to remove the obstruction as soon as possible and to protect the function of the bladder muscles and kidney.

Through nerve stimulation, acupuncture can improve the blood supply around the prostate and kidneys, strengthen the function of the detrusor muscles and relieve the prostate from pressure on the urethra so that urine can flow smoothly.

Acupuncture treatment is usually given 2-3 times a week, and it takes about 2-3 months to achieve satisfactory results for an enlarged prostate.

Clinical studies show:

  • Acupuncture can improve the symptoms of excessive contraction of the bladder muscle, change the blood flow in the organs of the urinary system and affect the hormone levels in the blood.

  • Acupuncture reduces or blocks unstable nerve signals from the prostate.

  • Acupuncture can normalise hyperplastic prostate tissue, possibly related to the regulation of endocrine function.
