According to Chinese medicine, the heart is the "master of the mind, the great master of the five masters of the five viscera and the six internal organs". Anxiety is due to the internal violation of the seven emotions. It is a fire syndrome caused by the overreaction of five emotions. Agitation disturbs the five organs and causes restlessness in the mind and spirit. Acupuncture points such as Baihui, Shenting, Yintang, Shenmen, can be used to calm the heart and mind.

Besides acupuncture therapy, cupping is also an important part of Chinese medicine, which has a history of more than 2,000 years in China. It can promote the flow of qi and blood, decongest the meridians, detoxify and eliminate stagnation without causing toxic side effects. Migratory cupping can be used to combat anxiety, choosing acupuncture points on the directional meridian and the first and second lateral lines of the foot Taiyang, bladder meridian on the back, especially on the upper part of the thoracic vertebrae. It can be used as an adjunct therapy to acupuncture in the treatment of anxiety and panic disorders.
