Treatment to improve male and female infertility at NUWA has different modes of action and approaches. We offer treatment and support tailored to their individual needs.

How can we help?

Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture can be used to strengthen the spleen, decongest the liver, strengthen the kidneys, warm the meridians and dispel cold, drain and promote Qi and nourish the blood to improve natural fertility.

What therapeutic effects can acupuncture achieve in the treatment of infertility?

Our many years of clinical practice and experimental research have proven that acupuncture has a regulating effect on the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis. It can promote follicular development and ovulation, improve endometrial function, promote tubal peristalsis and reduce uterine artery resistance, thereby improving endometrial tolerance, embryo implantation rate, clinical pregnancy rate and live birth rate.

During the IVF phase, acupuncture can improve egg and sperm quality, increase egg maturation, egg production, fertilisation rate and embryonic rate, and reduce the occurrence of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome during ovulation stimulation.

It has a good analgesic effect during egg retrieval and relieves nausea, dizziness and vomiting caused by anaesthetics. In addition, acupuncture can relieve patients' anxiety and depression, improve their sleep and other symptoms, and thus improve their quality of life.

The treatment programme starts three months before your IVF cycle with weekly acupuncture sessions and/or traditional Chinese herbal medicine.

We offer acupuncture the day before, during and after the IVF transfer to increase the likelihood of embryo implantation.
