Senile cortical cataract is divided into four clinical stages of development: incipient, immature, mature and overmature. Acupuncture is mainly used in the primary stage. There is no significant loss of vision at this stage, but lens opacification may be noted as the pupil dilates. Acupuncture can not only prevent further deterioration, but also improve symptoms to a certain extent.
