Pain

Heel spur (plantar fasciitis)

Repeated long-term overuse can cause damage to the tendon plate of the sole of the foot (plantar fascia), resulting in inflammation that causes pain.

Symptoms

  • Pain in the sole of the foot

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, this condition is mainly due to external stimuli such as wind and cold, overexertion and trauma. The aetiology of plantar fasciitis is due to a deficiency of Qi and Blood, as well as pathogenic factors such as cold and dampness.

Acupuncture stimulates the nerve endings on the surface of the heel muscle, dilates the blood vessels, loosens the adhesions caused by inflammation, promotes local blood circulation and improves nourishment of the surrounding tissues, thereby reducing swelling and providing an anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect.
